SPONSOR A CHILD, EARN MORE THAN JUST RESPECT.

Vidyanikethan offers different options in which you can contribute to make the lives of many underprivileged students brighter. To make things simple for you to understand, let us assume that a group of friends Mr.John, Ms.Mary and Mr.David wish to donate, choosing individually or together.

Gold Medal: र 5,00,000 ($10,000)

A Gold Medal will be constituted in the name of Mr.John and will be called ‘John Gold Medal’ and it will be presented to the student who secures top marks in his class/department. Mr.John’s gift is invested in an interest-bearing fund in which the principal remains intact while the interest provides a perpetual source of annual income and the medal will be made of Gold from the money generated through the interest.

Sponsor a Day Scholar: र 6,50,000 ($13,000)

A scholarship will be constituted in the name of Mr.John and will be called ‘John Scholarship’. A poor student will be educated through this scholarship.

To retain this scholarship, the student has to secure 60% or above marks or excel in sports. If the student is not up to the mark, he/she will not be able to avail the scholarship the next year. And a new student will be selected. The donor’s gift is invested in an interest-bearing fund in which the principal remains intact while the interest provides a perpetual source of annual income. In case more than one want to jointly donate for a scholarship, it could be called ‘John-Mary-David Scholarship’.

Sponsor a Boarding Student: र 12,50,000 ($25,000)

A scholarship will be constituted in the name of ‘John’ and will be called ‘John Scholarship’. A poor student will be educated in this scholarship. To retain this scholarship, the student has to secure 60% or above marks or excel in sports. If the student is not up to the mark, he/she will not be able to avail of the scholarship the next year. And a new student will be selected. This scholarship will cover everything from the student’s uniform, books, shoes etc. The donor’s gift is invested in an interest-bearing fund in which the principal remains intact while the interest provides a perpetual source of annual income. In case more than one wish to jointly donate for the scholarship, it will be called ‘John-Mary-David Scholarship’.

Student Welfare Fund: र 25,000 ($500)

This fund is used for student welfare activities, like buying books for the deserving and underprivileged students, under the Book Bank Scheme. Plus there are many other welfare activities that need support.

Endowment Chair Fund: र 2,50,000 ($5,000)

Requirement: 80 (For all the streams in the professional colleges)

An endowed chair is among the most important gifts to higher education, a vital tool to ensure faculty excellence. An endowment is established with a sizeable gift to an academic area designated by the donor. This gift is invested in an interest-bearing fund in which the principal remains intact, while the interest provides a perpetual source of annual income. This is then used to attract and support the academic and research efforts of an exceptional faculty member – a distinguished leader in his/her field – appointed to this position. The recipient typically holds the chair until leaving his/her position at the university, at which time the honor is bestowed upon a new scholar.

Hostel Dorm Rooms for Below Poverty Line Students:र 4,00,000 ($8,000)

Requirement: 50 rooms

If Mr.David decides to donate for a room, it will be used by four students. The room will be named ‘David Dorm Room’.

Classroom: र 12,00,000 ($24,000)

Requirement: 100 rooms

When Ms.Mary donates for a classroom, the classroom will be named as ‘Mary Classroom’. More than one can join together to donate for a classroom. Each classroom holds 60-75 students in the professional courses. Whereas in international schools, each classroom holds 30-40 students.

ONCE SOMEONE DONATES, HOW DOES THE DONOR RECEIVE FEEDBACK.

All donors will have their scholarships named and the details will be available on the website and also on the main administrative building for all to see.

Gold Medal: Every year, during the annual day of the educational institutions which is held on the 19th of March, Gold Medals will be awarded to students who have secured first rank in their classes/branches in their school/colleges.

Scholarships Day Scholar/Boarding: The donor can keep track of the student’s progress through the school’s website, and they can meet the student during their visit to Sree Vidyanikethan. Every student who receives a scholarship will be encouraged to mail the donor once a month about his progress. The profile of the donor will be available on the website and student will be educated about the donor.
